NUPRI Living Lounge Chair

Named after the Ainu word for "mountain," the "NUPRI" lounge chair embodies the connection between Hokkaido's natural landscapes and people. Designed by Toshiyuki Kita, it features a sturdy seat and firm, enveloping backrest. The seamless flow of solid wood from the backrest to the arms and legs evokes the gentle ridges of a mountain range, delivering both comfort and aesthetic beauty.

Toshiyuki Kita, born in 1942, has worked world-widely like in Italy, Germany, and Japan on many projects to design various products such as furniture, home electronics, robots, etc., based on his motto: Design is to harmonize all the conditions. Recently, he focuses more on the themes related to sustainability. Some of his works were selected in the permanent collections of world-famous museums like MoMA.
