On June 16th, CondeHouse announced and released the new work “SAN” that is designed by Michael Schneider. In addition, a new series named “A+” jointly developed with Mobel Toko is also announced.

The three lines were drawn by German designer Michael Shneider. The development began when He decided to create a common chair with faithful functionality in response to contract demand. These three lines became the basic structure of this chair as it is, and realized light proportions by a rounded wooden frame and weight reduction while maintaining strength.
― Designer Message ―
The name “SAN” comes from the Japanese word “three”. In Germany, when counting with fingers, the thumb, index finger and middle finger are opened. If you turn them down, you will see the three lines of this chair. Germany has the idea of “form follows function” (Lewis Henry Sullivan), which has permeated the Bauhaus educational policy. The design of “SAN” was born from the functions required of the future society, such as the calculated intellectual structure, the simple and lightweight manufacturing without wasting wood or upholstery, usage of local wood. It’s a purely simple chair, but it is the line from the back to the arm that is most satisfactory. It is beautiful with excellent completeness, including the use of leather on the back. Despite the online-only development under the pandemic, we would like to thank each other for their smooth completion with mutual trust and enthusiasm.
Michael Schneider
Born in southern Germany in 1962. When he was a student, he studied product design Richard Sapper. He has worked on many trend surveys, product/furniture designs and exhibition designs, has international customers and seek the designs of unique, beautiful and functional new product. He is wording on design with the aim of creating enjoyable products for daily use.
Chair (Upholstered Seat)
Although it has a common shape, it shows a crafty beauty and enhances comfort of the upholstered back and seat with the solid wood of Hokkaido birch which has a unique grain. The stitch work of the leather part with sense of craft is an intellectual point. In addition, the sense of size of it with a view to overseas expansion is also a feature, which is a spacious design that allows big men or women to be seated comfortably. When you sit down, you can lean your arms and feel comfortable from your back to arms, also given a sense of security that your body is supported. The chair that is easy for everyone to use, is not only suitable for contracts, but also for various home use situations, and is ideal for dining where you spend a long time. The long A-shaped legs also have the effect of changing the space.
Release of New Series “A+”
Asahikawa furniture maker Mobel Toko and CondeHouse have newly developed “A+” by making the best use of each other’s system furniture achievements and Know-How. We have prepared a “plan” that is configure for each scene such as living room, kitchen and study, so that customers can choose a combination of sizes that suits their purpose and space from the abundant variations.
The plan is a wide lineup including single TV boards, shelves, desks and wall storage. It’s a clear system that the price can be calculated by selecting the tree species and color from a number of plans. Not only is it easy for customers to consider, but it is also a great advantage of shortening the lead time. Of course, customization of sizes and combinations that are not included in the plan is available. It’s a new series featuring the wood texture and the beauty of handicrafts that are typical of Asahikawa furniture. There are three basic tree species: Oak, Hokkaido Ash and Walnut. Any color basing on the standard color of CondeHouse is available for painting.
More space has been created by the A+, along with the Lifestyle proposals basing on “18 scenes” focusing on dining and living rooms, which has been in operation since May 2021.
Six types of plans will be unveiled at the Asahikawa shop from Wednesday, June 16th. Release is scheduled for September.

Living Room Cabinet
A living room stand makes the impression of the space. There are various specifications to enhance the quality, such as louver doors with a delicate finish, “raised” finish by traditional techniques and a pedestal with 120mm height.
Sliding Cabinet
It’s a proposal for a calm space where TV cannot been seen. It’s usually used as a display shelf or a bookshelf, and you can slide the door when watching TV. The door has a structure that sticks to settle, when pulled lightly with one hand.
TV Cabinet
It’s a TV stand showing minimalist presence with a only 30mm pedestal and 15mm top plate. The contrast between the color-painted top plate and the excellent woody door is unique.。
Storage
It’s a large cabinet with a height of 2.4m. The untouched push-latch door creates a tranquil appearance. The finish of the niche frame incorporating the downlight is been particular about.
Shelf
It’s a shelf-type unit that can be used not only as a wall mount but also as a space partition. It’s designed with a sense of omission basing on horizontal lines, and the ease of use of double-sided specifications is also attractive.
Desk
It’s a desk type plan that is recommended for home offices. As seeking the creation of a comfortable and safe working environment, something like Linoleum made of natural materials is used for the top plate.

New Collaboration
CondeHouse x VECTOR GLIDE
Based on the project of sports-related industry support of the Hokkaido Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, CondeHouse is also participating in regional branding through snow sports, design, and tourism undertaken by Asahikawa area. As part of this, we have developed a folding chair in collaboration with the domestic ski and snowboard brand “VECTOR GLIDE”. The chair, which was made without flaw in design, function and appearance, aims to be a product that can be used for a long time with repairing. The frame is made of high-quality Japanese Oak, and the upholstery of the cushion is made of highly durable “CORDURA”. It’s available to adjust the angel of the back in 3 stages. It’s scheduled to be released in mid-July at VECTOR GLIDE’s flagship store “WHITE TIME” (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) and “WHITE TIME E-store”.
